What is Fucoidan?

Fucoidan is a sulfated polysaccharide found primarily in various brown seaweeds, such as mozuku, wakame, kelp, and hijiki. (Various forms of fucoidan are also found in animals, including sea cucumbers.) Fucoidan is a soluble dietary fiber. Its chemical structure contains significant polysaccharide molecules, including L-fucose, sulfate groups, galactose, mannose, xylose, and uronic acid. Fucoidan's unique molecular structure makes it a unique and potent natural health ingredient. Numerous studies have shown that fucoidan can effectively boost the immune system and possess antioxidant activity.
Numerous studies have shown that different types of fucoidan possess distinct health benefits. Mozuku fucoidan can induce apoptosis in necrotic cells, while Undaria pinnatifida spore fucoidan inhibits angiogenesis in necrotic cells.
